色の説明

梅鼠（うめねずみ）とは、赤みのある薄い鼠色（ねずみいろ）のことです。赤い色合いの形容として『紅梅色』の「梅」の字を冠しています。ちなみに、梅の特産地「豊後（現在の大分県）」にちなみ『豊後鼠（ぶんごねず）』とも呼ばれます。

江戸時代、幕府の「奢侈禁止令（しゃしきんしれい）」により染色が茶系、鼠系、紺系などに制限されたなかで、市井の人々は微妙な色の違いを生み出し、それを着物にして楽しました。それがいわゆる「四十八茶百鼠（しじゅうはっちゃひゃくねず）」といわれる流行色です。

『梅鼠』もその一つ。他にも『桜鼠（さくらねず）』『柳鼠（やなぎねず）』など様々な色があります。

[Explanation of a color]

The Umenezumi, it is a pale gray with a reddish tinge. In the epithet of redness derived from the flower of the Red Plum, the term plum became popular as color name Arrive “nezumi” is increased from the late Edo period, called “shijuhattyahaykunezu”. Plum mouse is one of them.
